Members of Mullingar Camera Club are displaying their works in the clubs Annual Photography Exhibition, this coming Thursday (27th August) at 6pm in the Atrium of Westmeath county Council, Mullingar. General public and potential new members are invited to join the club at the launch. Members of the club will be on hand to chat about their exciting new plans for the coming season.
Mullingar Camera Club has been increasing in momentum over the last few years and is an important element of the Arts in Westmeath with support at county and national levels through Westmeath County Council and Irish Photographic Federation. In fact, the club has hosted the Annual Irish Clubs Championships for the last 3 years and many of the distinction sittings (where photographers from all over the country are awarded grading of their skills).
Everyone is welcome to join the club, one one has an interest in photography. The group aims to encourage locals to get out and enjoy the art of photography and beginners, and more experienced photographers, are equally welcome. The group has increased meetings this year to weekly meets which allows for more specific themes per session, the intention is therefore to cover a broader experience level from beginner evenings to themed photo sessions to practical sessions. The club are officially returning to the Arts Center on Wednesday sept 9th and all new and old members are encouraged to come along. Annual membership of the club is only €50 with proceeds returning to the club operations.
