Mullingar Camera Club will begin the new 2026/27 season on Wednesday 16 September at Aras an Mhuilinn, which is located beside Mullingar Arts Centre. The first meeting back after the summer break will provide members an opportunity to catch up on what we did over the summer. Registration for any new members interested in joining the club will also take place on the night from 7:30 pm until the 9 pm. Annual subscription is €100 and can be paid on the night.
Earlier in the year in mid May, four of our members, Aisling Aughey, Rodney Cleary, Ben Millett and Noel Murphy were each awarded a Licentiate Distinction by the Irish Photographic Federation. Each submitted a panel of ten photographs for evaluation by a panel of expert judges who deemed them successful. As part of our first night back activities the members will display their successful panels and explain the story behind each photograph.

Whether you're just getting started or have years of experience behind the camera, Mullingar Camera Club offers a welcoming space to connect with others who share your interest in photography. We’re focused on helping each other grow, improve, and stay inspired. Members can participate as much or as little as they like, but active participation is encouraged - that's what makes our club work. There’s always something going on to keep you engaged and learning. Here is a sample of what you can expect when you join:
A supportive community of photographers at all experience levels,
Weekly club meetings with photo sharing and discussion,
Field trips to explore and photograph new locations,
Thoughtful, constructive feedback to help improve your work,
Monthly photo themes to challenge and expand your creativity
Whether you have the latest big brand camera release, older model or just a smart phone taking pictures has never been easier. However taking the picture is only the first step in producing an image you may want to print, frame and hang on your wall at home or in the office. Editing your image in digital software on a computer is just as important as taking the picture. As a club member you will be introduced to the various digital software processing applications and learn how to dramatically enhance any image with just a few simple techniques.
So if you are thinking about getting into photography or wondering what camera you should buy why not come along and see what Mullingar Camera Club is all about. Our main aim is about enjoying photography and helping one another improve our photographic skills. Whatever level in photography is, there is always something to learn.
